WHEREAS, the Undergraduate Student Government mission seeks to promote the interest of the
student body and to ensure there is effective communication between students, student
organizations, faculty and staff; and
WHEREAS, it is the Undergraduate Student Government’s responsibility to ensure the voices of
the UIC community are heard by USG; and
WHEREAS, as leaders in our community it is our duty to empower the UIC community to feel
heard about concerns they may have and to make UIC a better campus experience; then
LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Undergraduate Student Government shall host a town hall
titled “UIC Community Speaks” on April 10th from 3-5 pm in SCE 302.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that this event shall seek to accomplish a sense of
collaboration between the UIC community and USG by hearing their concerns about issues not
limited to mental health recognition, student workers rights, textbook cost, accessibility on
campus, etc.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Undergraduate Student Government shall allocate
a maximum of $325 to ‘UIC Community Speaks’ and any unspent funds shall be returned to the
budget.
