‘Money Matters’: Financial Literacy Event

WHEREAS, several students struggle with debt and inadequate financial aid for college, and
WHEREAS, students are developing unsustainable spending habits and a lack of awareness on the steps
to be financially stable in the future,
LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Undergraduate Student Government shall organize an event titled
‘Money Matters’ on April the 3rd from 1-3pm in SCE’s Cardinal Room.
LET IT BE RESOLVED, that this event will feature roundtable discussions as well as booths from
various financial organizations to aid UIC students in building their financial literacy,
LET IT BE RESOLVED, that snacks and refreshments, as well as a financial planner to ensure skill
application shall be provided at this event to incentivize the attendance of students.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that this event shall provide an informative yet engaging
experience for UIC students, and encourage them to take charge of their financial wellbeing by building
some skills in financial literacy for the future.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Undergraduate Student Government shall allocate a
maximum of $866.98 to ‘Money Matters’, and any unspent funds shall be returned to the budget.
