USG Women’s Leadership Dinner

WHEREAS, The Undergraduate Student Government serves a diverse population of 450 registered
student organizations, many of which provide executive board leadership opportunities for female
identifying students; and
WHEREAS, many of the significant contributions of female identifying students at this level of
leadership may still be under-acknowledged by the UIC community; and
WHEREAS, the Undergraduate Student Government and DOS mission works towards “fostering a
caring and supportive environment where all students matter”; and
WHEREAS, “Women represent 45% of the S&P 500 workforce but only hold 4% of CEO positions,”
which shows the immense disparity in leadership; and
WHEREAS, UIC seeks to further the next generation of leaders to help close this disparity at the highest
levels of leadership; then
LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Undergraduate Student Government shall host a “Women’s
Leadership” dinner at  Tuscany on Taylor. Date TBD
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that this event shall serve as a safe space where women identifying
leaders can share their experiences both of struggle and success in their positions.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Women's leadership Dinner shall invite up to 50 attendees
including a Representative from the Women's Leadership & Resource Center (WLRC) to inform leaders
of resources to succeed in their positions and as women in higher education.

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Undergraduate Student Government shall allocate $2,500
to the Women’s Leadership Dinner and return any unspent funds to the USG budget.
