Mental Health Care Package Initiative

WHEREAS, the Undergraduate Student Government and the Mental Health Commission are dedicated
to supporting student mental health and informing students of mental health resources and support
options on campus; and
WHEREAS, with the rigorous pace of the Spring semester, students may find themselves to be
increasingly overwhelmed and stressed by exams and coursework; and
WHEREAS, the Undergraduate Student Government seeks to promote a campus culture that prioritizes
and addresses the mental health needs of UIC students; then
LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Undergraduate Student Government shall allocate a maximum of
$1000 for the purchase of the following items, which will then be assembled into care packages and
distributed via tabling in the Student Center East building:
Hand lotion (pack of 20) x 8 = $79.92
Chicken Ramen (pack of 24) x 7 = $51.52
Eye Mask (pack of 30) x 5 = $59.80
Stress balls (pack of 18) x 9 = $197.55
Fruit snacks (pack of 24) x 7 = $99.26
USG branded bags x 250 = $255.00
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that USG and MHC shall work with the UIC Counseling Center to
compile a list of mental health resources at UIC (including but not limited to access to mental health professionals, support groups, organizations, and online resources) to be printed and included in the in the care packages.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that any unspent funds shall be returned to the USG budget.
