WHEREAS, the Undergraduate Student Government finds it significant to create
awareness for minority groups on campus and represent the disability community and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the event is to to give student organizations focused on
advocacy and awareness for minority groups an opportunity to be represented and for
students to gain insight into the different communities on campus and to increase
inclusivity in our student body, and
WHEREAS, this can be accomplished by collaborating with other student organizations
such as MHDA (Mental Health & Disability Alliance), DHD UIC, the Disability &
Human Development department, GWS center, and
WHEREAS, the Diversity & Inclusion Committee will be hosting a Disability Inclusion
& Awareness Event which will involve a an open discussion session where student
organizations will be able to share their concerns, experiences, and brainstorm ideas to
increase inclusivity on campus and a guest speaker from the DHD department will be
invited to provide insight, and
WHEREAS, the event will be held on April 26th, 2023 from 4:00 PM- 5:00 PM at SCE
(Room TBD) ; then

LET IT BE RESOLVED, that this event will give an opportunity to students and student
organizations to meet and share ideas and concerns.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that this event will allow student organizations to
focus on fostering inclusion for the upcoming school year and planning joined initiatives.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED , that USG will allocate a maximum of $200 for the
event and any unspent funds shall be returned to the USG budget.
