“Trick or Treat!” Halloween Giveaway

WHEREAS, many cultures celebrate Halloween at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the
Undergraduate Student Government wants to contribute the cultural experience of UIC students; and
WHEREAS, midterm week is a cause of stress for the student body and Halloween celebration would help
to support their mental health by distressing through decorating their DIY masks; and
WHEREAS, Halloween is a celebration of costume and masks, and the Undergraduate Student
Government would like to provide this aspect of the celebration for no cost to the students, then the
Halloween giveaway bags includes mask; then
LET IT BE RESOLVED, the Halloween celebration day is the 31st of October, and the Undergraduate
Student Government will hold the giveaway on the day of the Halloween, Tuesday October 31st from
2PM-4PM in the Student Center East,
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Undergraduate Student Government shall allocate a
maximum of $500 to cover 240 Halloween bags which includes “spooky” themed toys (240 pencils, 240
stamps, 240 stickers, 240 temporary tattoos, 240 bracelets, 240 fake spiders, 240 erasers), 1320 piece of
Halloween chocolates and candies & 240 Halloween masks.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that any unspent funds shall be returned to the budget.
