“Battle of the Centers” Pop-Up Pantry Thanksgiving Food Drive

WHEREAS, many UIC Undergraduate Students face food insecurity, and this issue is exacerbated
during the Thanksgiving holiday season; and
WHEREAS, the Wellness Center relies on monetary and item donations for the UIC Pop-Up pantry to
support its mission of serving the students of UIC and combating food insecurity at the college level.
LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Campus Life Committee of the UIC Undergraduate Student
Government will organize and host a food drive in collaboration with other UIC Centers to collect
non-perishable food items and essential supplies for the UIC Pop-Up Pantry.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the food drive will be held from 11/12/24-11/26/24 in
collaboration with the following UIC Centers: Business Career Center, Engineering Career Center, LAS
Career Development, School of Public Health Career Center, Women’s Leadership and Resource Center,
Gender and Sexuality Center, Disability Resource Center, Student Recreation Facility, Math & Science
Learning Center, UIC ROTC, and the Burnam Hall Tutoring Center.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the UIC Center that donates the most items will be rewarded
with a $50 prize, and all of the collected items from the food drive will be delivered to the UIC Pop-Up
Pantry to help address food insecurity on campus.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Undergraduate Student Government will allow the use of
the USG logo in promotional items and will work to advertise the event.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, the Undergraduate Student Government will allocate up to $275 to
fund the purchase of collection boxes and prizes for the event, full list below:

each, $203.97 total)
II. [50x] Assorted Cookies ($1 each, $50 total)
A. The $50 prize is subject to change.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that all unspent funds shall be returned to the budget.
