USG Flames Fest

WHEREAS, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is committed to organizing large, inclusive
events to foster a strong sense of community by actively inviting and engaging all students, as well as
encouraging participation from a wide range of student organizations; and
WHEREAS, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) aims to provide free live DJ music, free
food, and giveaways to encourage students to socialize, relax, and enjoy themselves in a fun and
welcoming environment; and
WHEREAS, Flames Fest is a great opportunity for promoting Flames spirit, throughout the University
of Illinois Chicago community, uniting students to celebrate the unique identity and culture of UIC;
LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Undergraduate Student Government will host a “USG Flames Festival”
event from 4-8 pm on October 23rd that will alleviate the stress of the student body during this time and
allow for students to connect with one another through live entertainment and food,
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the Undergraduate Student Government shall allocate up to
$6,200 to fund the purchase of catering services, space reservations, table/stage reservation, blankets,
glow-sticks, and stage lights for this event, full list below:
