Initiatives
The Undergraduate Student Government’s current and previous initiatives.
Meal Swipe Donation Program
Meal Swipe Donation Program
The Meal Swipe Donation Program was first proposed during the Fall 2022 semester to allow students to donate their extra swipes so that food insecure students would be able to use them if they could not swipe in themselves.
Currently, this has led to UIC’s catering company allocating 350 swipes each semester so that food insecure students could have access to the dining hall.
Expanded Night Ride Hours
Expanded Night Ride Hours
UIC’s Night Ride currently operates from 11pm-7am. The current goal is to expand the hours to start earlier as students find it hard to get a Night Ride due to the current limited hours.
Currently this has led to Night Ride hours being pushed back to 10pm starting on April 17th.
The Campus Safety Commission are the ones leading this initiative.
