Public Comment at USG Meetings
UIC Undergraduate Student Government (USG) meetings include a Public Comment period to allow members of the UIC community to share feedback, concerns, and ideas with the body.
Who May Speak During Public Comment
Eligible speakers include:
- Enrolled UIC students (all levels)
- Current UIC faculty
- Current UIC staff
How to Sign Up
Option A: Sign Up in Advance (Recommended)
To be added to the speaker list ahead of time, email:
Include:
- Full name
- UIC affiliation (student / faculty / staff)
- Organization affiliation (if applicable)
- Topic you plan to address
- Any materials you would like distributed or entered into the meeting record
Option B: Day-Of Sign Up
Speakers may also sign up with the USG Secretary no later than 5 minutes before the meeting is called to order.
Speaker Slots and Time Limits
- There are 4 total public comment slots per meeting
- Each slot is 2 minutes
- One speaker per slot
- Slots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis (based on sign-up order)
